After enjoying our first season as a National League club, by playing in the South East Regional League in 2008/09, Highbury have welcomed the news that London will form their own region due to the restructuring of Regional Leagues for 2009/10.
The first team are looking forward to competing in the top London division and all four Highbury teams are confident of continuing the club’s recent progress, and achieving success in their respective London divisions.
Both teams have been promoted and the 1st team is now competing in the EKA South East Regional competition, with the 2nd team competing in the London First Division. We also have a competitive 3rd team, currently doing battle in the London Third Division, and have entered a newly launched 4th team into the London Fourth Division.
Outdoor season (Summer)
During the summer months Highbury attends outdoor tournaments around the country and abroad on practically a weekly basis. Tournaments make for great weekends and are a good chance to play outdoors and are always accompanied by social events.
Highbury Socials
Because korfball is a mixed-sex sport, its social side is enhanced by the fifty-fifty split in male and female players. Forget speed-dating, korfball has it covered! Highbury are a very social korfball club and members regularly organise events in and around London. Previous events have ranged from banger racing to wine tasting.
